The 8th Annual Long Trail Century Ride to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports is on Saturday, June 23, 2018 and RAD-Innovations is excited to be a sponsor of this great event! Over 700 cyclists and mountain bikers are expected to attend this year, including more than 40 cyclists with disabilities plus their assistants and guides. Last year, the event raised more than $250,000 to support Vermont Adaptive’s operating budget, participant scholarships, lessons, the purchase of adaptive equipment, and more.
The event’s goal is to raise $300,000 for the state’s largest nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities, while enjoying the beauty of Vermont through cycling. There are many ways to participate, including 100, 60, 40 and 20 mile loops, and a family friendly 5K bike ride. You can also ride the Snowshed trail at Killington on your mountain bike - Killington will be offering early access to the Snowshed lift to participants, and you can ride all day. All rides start and end at the Long Trail Brewery on Route 4 in Bridgewater Corners, and the celebration continues after the ride with a BBQ, live music and family entertainment. Register by June 1st and you’ll get a Killington ticket voucher, valid for one day of skiing during the 2018-2019 season or mountain biking during the 2018 summer season! Cycling participants check in on Friday night at the pre-ride party at Killington Resort. Rides begin on 7am Saturday. Rider registration is $70 and includes a Century Ride t-shirt, food and support at aid stations during the ride, entry to the apres-ride party with food and entertainment, and a commemorative drinking glass. (Registration fees go up June 1.) Each rider is responsible for a minimum $100 fundraising requirement. The apres-ride party starts at noon and is open to the public - admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids, so even if you can’t (or don’t want to) ride, you can come out and support Vermont Adaptive and have a great time!
