Effortless Automatic Shifting with Shimano Steps & Di2
Comfort and performance move to the next level with the EVOlution’s seamlessly integrated Shimano Steps mid-motor with automatic shifting. The motor harmonizes perfectly with the rider so that it feels like the energy is coming from your own legs, but with more power and less exertion. The Shimano Di2 shifting system, a standard feature on the EVOlution, is the ultimate in riding comfort. Gears can be shifted with the touch of a button - electronically, without gear cables. Or you can let the Di2 do the shifting for you: it can be set to change gears automatically, leaving you free to enjoy the ride and your surroundings. This clever control system even learns over time, adapting to your preferences.

A robust eight-speed Shimano Alfine hub under the fully adjustable ergonomic seat is a perfect, maintenance-free counterpart to the motor. It transmits torque to the differential unit, which drives both rear wheels, allowing the EVOlution to maintain traction when riding on slippery or loose surfaces.

The EVOlution’s disc brakes guarantee that superior stopping power is delivered smoothly when you need it. There’s even an integrated parking brake. A quick-adjust mechanism makes it easy to change the length of the front boom to accommodate different riders’ legs, without the need to change the chain length, and length-adjustment markings on the boom make changing from one rider to another quick and easy. The EVOlution’s frame is easily foldable for storage or transport - simply pull the quick-release levers on the seat and pull a cord to fold your EVOlution into a hatchback-friendly 3’2” long footprint. The LED headlight allows you to extend your ride beyond daylight hours for additional usefulness and enjoyment.
